Support & Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to the FuelFinder Support page. We are dedicated to helping Aussie motorists save money at the bowser. Below you will find answers to the most common questions regarding our web platform and how to track down the cheapest petrol in your local area.
How does FuelFinder get its petrol prices?
FuelFinder uses a combination of government-mandated real-time data feeds (available in most Australian states), direct transmissions from servo operators, and community-sourced verifications. This ensures that the prices you see for Unleaded 91, Premium 95/98, and Diesel are as accurate as possible.
Is there a FuelFinder mobile app?
FuelFinder is a dedicated web-only platform designed for desktop and mobile browsers. If you are looking for a native mobile experience to take on the road, you can download our sister app, FuelRadar. FuelRadar is powered by the same high-quality data engine as FuelFinder and is available on both the iOS App Store and Google Play Store.
How often are the prices updated?
Most servos across Australia report price changes within minutes. Our web platform refreshes these feeds constantly. However, during volatile price cycles, we recommend checking the "last updated" timestamp next to each servo listing to ensure you're getting the most current rate in c/L.
How can I find the cheapest petrol near me?
On the FuelFinder homepage, simply enter your suburb or postcode into the search bar. You can filter the results by petrol type (e.g., E10, U91, or Diesel) and sort by "Lowest Price." The cheapest servos in your area will appear at the top of the list.
What are price predictions and how do they work?
Our price prediction tool analyses historical trends and current wholesale costs to estimate whether petrol prices in your city (such as Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane) are likely to rise or fall. If the tool says "Hold off," it’s usually better to wait a few days before filling up the ute.
Can I report an incorrect price?
Yes! We value community verification. If you pull into a servo and notice the price on the board is different from what is listed on FuelFinder, click the "Report/Verify" button on that specific servo's page. This helps keep the data accurate for every other legend on the road.
How do I set up price alerts?
To receive notifications when petrol drops below a certain c/L in your area, create a free FuelFinder account. Once logged in, you can save your "Favourite" servos and toggle on email alerts. For real-time push notifications on your phone, we recommend using the FuelRadar app.
Why are prices different between Australian states?
Petrol pricing varies due to different state-based reporting schemes and transport costs. For example, servos in NSW, QLD, and WA have mandatory real-time reporting, whereas other regions may rely more on community updates. FuelFinder aggregates all this data into one easy-to-use map.
Is my personal information secure?
Absolutely. We take your privacy seriously. Your account details and saved locations are encrypted and used only to customise your FuelFinder experience. We do not sell your personal data to third-party marketing organisations.
How do I manage or delete my account?
You can update your profile details and preferences within the "Account Settings" section of the website. If you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data, please send a request from your registered email address to our support team.
Why can't I find a specific servo on the map?
While we cover the vast majority of servos across Australia, some independent or rural sites may occasionally be missing. If your local servo isn't listed, please send us an email with the servo name and address, and we’ll get our team to add it to the map.
